Maryland residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of democratic candidates at the local, state, and national levels.

According to the Montgomery County Board of Elections, more than 70% of county voters chose the Obama-Biden ticket, and 65% voted in favor of question 6, the Civil Marriage Protection act, making up for smaller gains in other areas of the state.

Maryland’s 10 electoral votes will go to President Obama.
Barack Obama (D)- 61.2%
Mitt Romney (R)- 37.0%
Others- 1.8%

Senate:
Ben Cardin (D)- 54.26%
Daniel John Bongino (R)- 27.47%
Rob Sobhani (I)- 17.06%
Dean Ahmad (L)- 1.21%

House District 8:
Chris Van Hollen (D)- 66.99%
Ken Timmerman (R)- 29.67%
George Gluck (GR)- 1.40%
Mark Grannis (L)- 1.94%
