The track and field team lost to Wootton in a home tri-meet against the Patriots and the Gaithersburg Trojans March 27, lowering its record to 1-1.
Anna Ryba, Clare Severe and Lela Walter received the top three times in the girls’ 3200 meter run event, and the boys team came in second behind the Trojans in the 4×100 meter relay event. Captain Madeleine Entwistle placed second in the 100 meter hurdle event with a time of 16.10. Kayla Prandoni came in eleventh in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events.
Even though the Vikes didn’t come out on top, Prandoni is hopeful about their prospects later in the season.
“Even though we didn’t win, I’ve seen a lot of improvement, especially in our hurdlers,” Prandoni said. “I’m expecting to see us grow a lot in our coming meets.”
Next, the Vikes host the 2-1 B-CC Barons April 11.
