Varsity girls basketball beat the Northwest Jaguars 57-21, January 11, imropoving their record to 9-2.
This game looked like it would be a tough match up, with the two teams being tied for first place in 4A West, but the girls proved it to be no competition. Their defense shut down the Jaguars with ease, helping them more than double the Jaguars’ point total.
Senior Caroline Kahlenberg and junior Whitney Kolakowski made a dominating force; Kahlenberg with 12 points and seven assists and Kolakowski with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Vikes now are first place in their division, with Northwest and Churchill tied behind them at number two in the 4A West conference. Whitman will host the Churchill Bulldogs in a double-header on Friday, Jan 15.
