Varsity boys basketball defeated rival B-CC, 52-45 on Friday, Jan. 8. The boys dominated the first quarter, but let the Barons come back in the second. The Vikes led by four at the half. A number of three pointers from guard Eddie Wytkind early in the third quarter however, helped the boys establish a greater lead.
Staying patient, the boys played smart with tight defense and accurate passes. Captain Charlie Waugh led the team on fast break points, seemingly effortlessly passing B-CC’s defense. Guards Ross Koehn and Wytkind helped the Vikes stack up more points with clutch three pointers and lay-ups.
There was a big fan turnout at the game, as rowdy B-CC fans tried to distract the Vikes.
“This game is the first big win in a huge environment,” Koehn said. “It was definitely intimidating.”
This win pushed the boys to 8-2 for the season.
