*By Juliet Mullins*

Varsity Football shut out the Walter Johnson Wildcats 28-0, September 11, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Whitman started off strong when linebacker Tony Atkinson intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown just 58 seconds into the game.

The Vikes continued their dominant performance when running back Kevin Cecala rushed for a touchdown in the second quarter, followed by a field goal by Danny Lee. At halftime, the boys led 16-0.

In the fourth quarter, the Vikes scored twice more; once on a rushing touchdown by quarterback Henry Kuhn and the other on a pass to wide receiver Craig Fraser.

While the win surprised no one, it is still a momentum boost for the Vikings’ season.
