Wootton’s winning goal was scored with 7:54 left in the second overtime period.

Midfielder Sebastian Cahe scored the first goal of the game, his sixth of the season. The Patriots tied the score with three minutes remaining in regulation play.

Neither team scored in the first overtime, so they played an additional overtime period. Wootton then scored to win the game, 2-1.

“We played great in the beginning but got arrogant and played like we had already won,” midfielder Nick Xourias said.

The team hopes to rebound from the loss when it takes on the 5-3 B-CC Barons Oct. 19.
