The wrestling team (0–2) suffered a 40–37 defeat to the Wootton Patriots last Tuesday in a valiant comeback effort that fell just short.

The Patriots started out strong and quickly jumped out to a 28–0 lead, pinning multiple Viking wrestlers along the way. The match looked all but over until the Vikings suddenly reversed the momentum with multiple pins of their own by 152 lb Sang Hanna, 170 lb John Mackall, 182 lb Mason Austin Brantly, 195 lb Yussef Zaki, and 220 lb John Luke Iglesias.

Despite the Vikings late surge, the team could not recover from its slow start.

The Vikings continue the search for their first victory when they travel to Paint Branch next Tuesday to face the Panthers (1–1).
