Enough is enough; the media needs to stop with this Linsanity. We all get it that Jeremy Lin is a good player who works hard, but the excessive media coverage is starting to get annoying.
In no way am I discrediting what Jeremy Lin has done; he’s a great player that deserves recognition. However, he doesn’t need to be worshiped. There are plenty of other players who went through hard times too before making it big—for example, most MLB players have to play their way through the minor leagues before reaching the majors.
Even Lin is starting to get tired of the media circus—he has already commented on how he had to apologize to his childhood friends after the media tracked them down to ask personal questions about him.
The only reason Lin is getting this much attention is because of the lack of other stories in the NBA. Kobe hasn’t been doing anything special, and the only thing they have on King James is a lame quote about how he would not, not go back to Cleveland.
As soon as something goes wrong, I know we’ll turn on Lin and he’ll become a national tragedy as fast as he became a national hero. So let’s just let the Linsanity go before anything goes wrong and let Lin live his life.
